On September 12, 2003, we headed out for a dig at Guilford Court House, a Revolutionary battle site. The last time we were there, we had been held up by a wrecked truck carrying chemicals.
Why should this trip be different?
Of course, we were slowed by yet another wreck in the mountains on I-40. At least we didn't experience a nine hour delay like we did on the last one! They had just stood this one back up after it had been over on it's right side.

We were hunting around a couple of houses that had been acquired for the Park.

This is what was found in the morning, a musket ball, rifle ball (smaller caliber), button and shoe buckle. The CARHA members teamed up to find these.
The shoe buckle was found by Charlotte, her first and only Rev War find.

The items above were found in the afternoon. The two bullets on the left are modern. Russ located S41 and the button, which pleased him greatly!

Wayne managed to find the yellow jackets nest that we had all walked around. Once under the eye and twice on the arm. Ouch!
