We have worked at Chickamauga-Chattanooga (Chickamauga, Lookout Mountain and Orchard Knob), Stones River, Corinth, Shiloh, Cow Pens, Kings Mountain, Battle Of Ninety-six, SC, Chalmette (Battle of New Orleans) and Guilford Court House. We can now add the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, Franklin, TN and Kennesaw, GA to that list.

Palo Alto 2006
Thursday
Rolando gives us all the rules of the dig as we start to work on February 16, 2006. It was a wonderful day, getting up to 85 degrees.
Robert locates a target in the very salty soil,
A musket ball.
Somehow, despite swinging the loop a good 10-12 inches above the ground,
Charlie found a US Bridal Rosette.
Rolando finds a musket ball,
Which Chuck records as James GPS's the location it was found at.
Later that evening, Steve (L) and John make sure all of the items were recorded properly.
Chuck then enters all of it into the computer.
Friday
Friday was another nice day.
We found more cannister balls and a few shell fragments.
Of course, I had them use my camera to get photos that had me in them and got Chuck again!
Randy found this (much enlarged in the photo!) 1841-O Half Dime.
Kevin found a broken brass buckle, not sure what it was from.
Kevin found this large, lead cannister ball.
Then Randy
found a US 6-pounder solid shot. Note that he is using a Fisher this year to combat the salt. We love our Tesoro detectors, they just can't match Fisher in these conditions. He purchased this one used at the relic show in Dalton (Thanks Mike Kent for being the promoter for the show!) the first weekend of February.
